How-To Switch Internet Service Providers

1. Find a local access number: select a number and network that has a local phone number

Dialup Network Setup Instructions for configuring your computer to use our service

After you sign up you will have the Dialup Networking Information something like this below:

• Dialup Username: atoname@world.net
• Password: pass123
• Local Access Number: 949-266-2605

Setting up your Computer - win 95/98 example

1) Click on my computer
2) Click on dialup-networking
3) Make a new connection (name it "combuy.com")
4) When done, right click on that connection
5) Go down to properties, and then click on the server type tab.
6) Only two boxes that should be check are

• Enable Software compression
• TCP IP

7) Click ok and now you can connect, by clicking on the icon.

Setting up the POP3 e-mail account.

After you signup you will have something similar to the    following e-mail information

• E-mail address: yourname@combuy.com
• User ID:      yourname
• Password:    pass123

The folowing information is common to most accounts

• Incoming mail server is a:             (POP3)
• Incoming mail POP3 or IMAP:     mail.combuy.com
• Outgoing mail SMTP server:         smtp.safepages.com

Setting up your e mail using Outlook

Open Outlook 98 or Express

• From the drop-down menus, select Tools then slide your mouse down to Accounts
• This will bring up the Internet Accounts, Click the Mail tab, then on the Add button and select Mail
• In the Display name box enter your name as you wish it to appear at the recipient's end (from)

Click Next

• In the Email address box enter your email address (yourname@combuy.com)

Click Next

• Enter the mail server information as shown below
  • My incoming mail server is a          (POP3)
  • Incoming mail POP3 or IMAP      (mail.combuy.com)
  • Outgoing mail SMTP server           (smtp.safepages.com)

Click Next

Make sure Logon using: is selected and enter the information as shown below. Note: your password will echo as asterisks. Be sure you enter your password correctly. Passwords are case-sensitive.

• Account user name: yourname
• Password: pass123

Select Next

• In the Internet mail account name box, enter a "friendly name" for your account.

Note: This can be anything you want. If setting up multiple accounts you may want to give each account a slightly different name, i.e. " Bob", " Mary" etc.

Select Next

Select Connect using my phone line

Select Next

Select Use an existing dial up networking connection and make sure the connection name for your combuy.com dialup service is selected.

Click Next

Click Finish to save your settings

Although different versions of Outlook are slightly different you should now be ready to send email-using Outlook   For program function and features, consult your Outlook "Help" files
